It was an honor to create a new painting specifically for the annual Ave Banquet at OLCC which was held on Thursday, May 7, 2026. Sr. Mediatrix had inquired which existing painting to use for a prayer card for this event. Immediately, my response was none because in prayer, a new painting emerged and it was of the Blessed Virgin Mary. After a couple of sketches, Sr. Mediatrix selected a new version of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
I knew it was destined for another priest but which one? The answer didn’t come until the day of the event.

It was at the end of the Ave banquet last night that I surprised Fr. John Gaffney, SOLT with a gift of the “Ave Maria” painting, whose spiritual guidance I have heeded and treasured,
A small way of honoring his priesthood, his joy, and his witness to Our Lady. Grateful for the grace of the evening and for the beauty God allows us to share. Thank you Father for your “yes” to the Lord.
