Merci McCoy Introduction and Intentions (Videoclip is from ShalomWorld’s America Prays website)

Transcript of my Introduction and Intentions

As a liturgical artist, I’ve come to believe something with my whole heart: beauty is one of God’s boldest instruments. It shakes us awake. It cuts through the noise. It reaches into the deepest places of the soul where words can’t go. When I stand before a blank canvas, I don’t just see paint and brushes — I feel the weight of a mission. Because God is not asking me to make something pretty. He’s asking me to make Him visible.

And that lights a fire in me.

Because God didn’t give us talents to keep them safe or small. He gave them to us to unleash them. To let them roar. To let them proclaim His glory in ways that only we can. Every gift — whether it’s art, music, leadership, compassion, craftsmanship, teaching — is meant to be a doorway where someone can encounter the living God.

And here’s the truth: when we hold back our gifts, we’re not being humble. We’re being afraid. But when we step forward — even trembling — the Holy Spirit rushes in. He breathes on our offering. He turns our little “yes” into something that can move hearts, heal wounds, and awaken faith.

That’s why I paint. That’s why I pour my whole soul into every stroke. Because I know God can use it to touch someone in a way I may never see. And that’s enough.

But this isn’t just my fire — it’s meant to be for all of us. Imagine the power of the Church if every one of us lived our gifts boldly. Imagine the beauty, the unity, and the revival that could erupt if we stopped doubting ourselves and started trusting God who placed these gifts inside us.

So today, let’s not just ask the Holy Spirit to guide us — let’s ask Him to ignite us. To set our gifts ablaze. To reveal our mission with clarity and courage. And may everything we create, everything we offer, everything we dare to do become a living flame of praise that will draw the world closer to the heart of God.
