“Come and See” exhibition at CHRISTUS Spohn Shoreline.

On May 6, 2026, I had the privilege to present the Come and See exhibit during Nurse’s Week. It was made special since my mom, God bless her soul, was a nurse and I held her in my heart all through the entire day. I was extremely thankful for my team: Audrey & Rick Foust, Pat McKeone and Rita Stevens who took time out of their busy week to help me transport, setup, unveiled, helped with the PowerPoint and then transferred all the paintings. After the formal presentation at the auditorium, he entire exhibit was displayed in the lobby along the wall of the chapel along with their narratives.

It was indeed incredible to witness how many people especially recently discharged patients who took the time to peruse the exhibit and were in silent prayer in front of their favorite paintings. I am so thankful for this venue – it was the first time to present the paintings at a Catholic hospital and leaving it for a week there.

Providentially, our new bishop, Bishop Mario Aviles was in attendance the following day, celebrated mass in the chapel and delivered an inspiring speech to the medical personnel present with the paintings in the background. Thank you to Deacon Peter McCourt for the invitation to present/exhibit the Come and See paintings and his assistant, Kassie Olvera, for her help.
