Another painting from the Come and See exhibit was delivered to its final home with Fr. Brady Williams, SOLT, who will hang it in the Novitiate House. He shared that when the novitiates enter, the first thing they will see is this moving painting of Mother Mary with the Child Jesus.
I learned that starfish not only represents Mother Mary but also represents the 5 wounds of Christ. Stella Maris is a beautiful title given to our Blessed Virgin Mary and the title of this painting. However, I also wanted to capture another one of her titles, Mary, Seat of Wisdom, as she shares with the God of the universe the beauty of his creation through a starfish on the beach.
