This painting has finally found a home with Fr. Thomas Wellar, retired diocesan priest of the Diocese of Corpus Christi, and nephew of a renowned artist, Anne Geyer. He shared with me that before he was a diocesan priest, he was part of a monastic order, and his religious name was Fr. Thomas Wellar of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It was the sacred heart in this painting that drew him to it, and I just knew it was meant for him.
